Mercedes Bernardez

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DANZA CORPUS, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF TCDC & CO-FOUNDER OF TEADE, BALLET INSTRUCTOR

 Argentinian born Mercedes Bernardez had an international performing career as a Principal Dancer and as Ballet Mistress in several ballet companies in Argentina ( Ballet Oficial de Cordoba , Contemporary Ballet of San Martin Theatre ), Chile ( National Chilean Ballet) and Venezuela ( Ballet de Nina Novak, Contemporary Ballet of Caracas).

Ms. Bernardez was Artistic Director at Quinte Ballet School from 1997 to 2003, before moving to Calgary to become Ballet Mistress at Alberta Ballet. Ms. Bernardez has been a guest teacher for Richmond Academy of Dance and Dance Umbrella in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Ms. Bernardez is a stand member of National Ballet of Canada’ InStudio , teaches company class for both The National Ballet of Canada and Ballet Jörgen Canada. Since 2015 has been a permanent guest teacher for the UNCSA University of North Carolina School of the Arts , in Winston Salem ,USA. Ms Bernardez is the Associate Director of The Carret Dance Conservatory , Canada and is co director for TEADE CUBA since 2011 and has done the first Virtual Version of TEADE ninth version in July 2020, 2021 and the first  TEADE Canada in person on  August 2022. Mercedes is a member of the International Dance Council, CID, UNESCO and has participated  at the  CID 58th International Dance Research Congress in Athens, Greece, July 2022.
